Partner Martin Zoltick ("Marty") will co-present on the "Legislative and Regulatory Landscape for AI/ML in the U.S. and Europe" at the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) Technological Advisory Council Working Group on AI and Computing weekly session on July 19, 2023.
Legislatures, regulators and policymakers in the U.S., Europe, and throughout the world are keenly aware of the proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI) and the disruptive power of AI-enabled technologies that employ ever evolving and increasingly improving machine learning (ML) algorithms, neural network architectures, natural language processing tools, large language models, and more. These AI-enabled technologies are ushering in a new era for enterprises, businesses, and the public at large, bringing AI into everyday life, from the content we read, to the artwork we admire, the music we enjoy, the routes we travel, where and what we eat, what we buy, and when and how we wake up and wind down. The need for a regulatory framework for AI is clear. The challenge, of course, is to design a framework that addresses the risks of harm from AI and achieves the proper balance of supporting innovation with the need for safety and security, data privacy, trustworthiness, accountability, and transparency. During this session, Marty and his co-presenter, Magali Feys of AContrario Law, will provide an overview of the legislative and regulatory landscape for AI/ML in the U.S. and Europe.
