Associate Gary Prato will present a session titled "From Synthetic Chemist to Patent Attorney" at the American Chemical Society (ACS) Fall 2023 conference taking place August 13-17, 2023, in San Francisco, California. Gary's session will take place on the first day of the conference, August 13.
Gary will discuss the patent area of intellectual property, including what is a patent, why patents are important to a company, and how he helps his clients obtains a patent. A well-secured intellectual property portfolio can be a determining feature of any company’s ability to become and remain profitable, gain or maintain a competitive advantage, and ultimately succeed. This is especially true for companies trying to establish themselves in a new and competitive market but can be crucial to well-established companies as well.
The theme of ACS Fall 2023 is "Harnessing the Power of Data". The meeting will explore how scientists can harness the power of data by covering pure and applied topics such as: chemical and biological data generation, curation, and access; theoretical and algorithmic developments in machine learning and artificial intelligence; and the use of data in machine learning and artificial intelligence applications. Thousands of chemistry professionals will meet to share ideas and advance scientific and technical knowledge.
