Rothwell Figg's Steven Lieberman Quoted in New York Times, Other Publications, Regarding Arrest of Suspect in Kurt Eichenwald Case

Partner Steven Lieberman, who represents Newsweek senior writer Kurt Eichenwald pro bono, was quoted in the New York Times, as well as in Newsweek and various other publications, following the arrest of John Rivello, the alleged Twitter user who tweeted a strobing image to Eichenwald, immediately causing him to suffer a seizure.

On Friday, March 17, 2017, The Federal Bureau of Investigations confirmed it arrested Mr. Rivello, and accused him of sending the electronic file. Mr. Rivello has been charged with criminal cyberstalking with the intent to kill or cause bodily harm.

In regards to the attack and subsequent arrest, Steven stated: “This electronic message was no different than a bomb sent in the mail or anthrax sent in an envelope. It triggers a physical effect.”
