Rothwell Figg Elects Rachel Echols, Michael Jones, and Jennifer Nock to Firm Partnership

Rothwell Figg is pleased to announce the promotion of three lawyers - Rachel Echols, Michael Jones, and Jennifer Nock ("Jen") - to the firm’s partnership, effective October 1, 2018.

Rachel has extensive experience across many different areas of patent and trademark law including litigation, opinions, licensing, and counseling. She has also worked on privacy, trade secret, and unfair competition matters. Rachel has been involved in litigation matters before the U.S. District Courts, the International Trade Commission, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. In addition, she has experience in Patent Trial and Appeal Board and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board proceedings. While her focus is in the area of life sciences, Her practice involves a broad range of technical fields, and she has worked on matters involving pharmaceuticals, biosimilars, nutraceuticals and dietary supplements, medical devices, chemical coatings, inorganic glasses, mobile phones, and financial products.

Michael’s practice covers all aspects of patent law, including patent litigation, post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, patent prosecution, opinions, and counseling. Additionally, he has experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications before the USPTO, and in overseeing the prosecution of foreign counterpart applications. He has experience in a broad range of technologies, including semiconductor devices and manufacturing, integrated circuits, hardware and protocols for wireless communications, digital media and storage, financial trading systems, green energy technology, electro-mechanical systems, and Internet-based commerce and security software.

Jen is experienced in a variety of patent matters including litigation, prosecution, licensing, opinions, and counseling. While she has experience working with patents in a wide range of technical fields, her practice is particularly focused on pharmaceuticals and biosimilars. She has worked on numerous Hatch-Waxman litigations, both in district court and on appeal to the Federal Circuit, as well as patent interferences and IPRs involving small molecules and biological products. Her practice also includes due diligence studies of pharmaceutical and biological patents for potential acquisitions.
